Chapter 1 - The World Is Against Me

This is the story of a boy who struggled—over and over again.
This is the story of a boy who gave up.
Everyone abandoned him, and his sister died of a disease. The boy died alone in an accident. That was the end of his pathetic tale—by the will of the gods.

But then...

He awoke in a forest, drenched in sweat.
“Where the hell am I?” he muttered, looking around.

“Brother, wait!”

“AH!!” He turned to see his little sister gripping his ankle in her sleep.

“Grim?”

“Gra…ce… Oh shit, is this heaven?”

“Why do you say that?”

“Well, you died. So…”

“I did?! Wait, I can move just fine… Oh crap! We really are dead!”

“Whatever.”

Grim embraced his sister. Dead or not, she was alive and that was all that mattered.
“So… Now what?”
“I don’t know… Let’s just get out of here…”

They soon realized their red eyes were taboo. People feared them. Shunned them. Chased them.

Word spread—two red eyes hadn't been seen in centuries. A church was alerted. Paladins were sent.

“Why did they chase us out?” Grace asked.
“I don’t know… But I have a bad feeling…”

After escaping a deadly attack from a paladin named Hawk, they were rescued by a mysterious, strong woman named Willow.

“You don’t know? Red eyes are seen as a sign of heresy in this world. They think people with red eyes turned away from god. The church executes them. My brother had one red eye. They took him…”

“So you’re helping us because of what happened to your brother?” Grace asked.
“Yeah. I guess I feel guilty. But more than that—you two need to learn to fight.”

Chapter 2 - With Your Soul

On the road, Willow taught them to visualize their identity—to manifest their soul weapon.

“Think about who you are and what you want to do. That becomes your weapon.”

Grim’s weapon: a scythe.
Grace joked: “What are you, the Grim Reaper?”
Aria: “That’s not a bad thing. He guides souls to their resting place.”

Suddenly, the paladins attacked again.

Grim used his scythe to defend his friends, but was overpowered by Hawk.

This is the story of a boy who gave up and—

NO. SCREW THAT! SCREW YOU!

Grim stabbed Hawk, and his scythe glowed.

“Reap.”

He ripped through Hawk’s body—his first kill.

“If you think I’m a monster… Then I’ll be one. I’ll kill your friends. Then your god.”

Chapter 3 - For Y(our) Happiness

Now on the run, Willow, Aria, Grace, and Grim were hunted by Lion, Serpent, and Raven.

Willow: “We need to figure out how they’re tracking us.”
Grace: “Maybe it’s like a sniper rifle tracking heat?”
Aria: creates a sniper rifle.
Willow: “You… changed your answer.”

Aria’s ability: she can change her answer, creating new weapons.

Grace eventually discovered her soul weapon: nunchucks with powers to increase enemy weight and lighten allies.

Grim killed Serpent with a precise Reap.

Chapter 4 - Reap What You Sow

The team closed in on Lion. Aria cut off Raven’s arm, and Grace immobilized Lion.

Grim: “Reap what you sow, jerk.”
He cut Lion’s neck.

Chapter 5 - Grim the Eternal God Slayer

But the god of the paladins appeared.

He stabbed the forest alive. Threw Grim into the air. Pierced him with roots.

Grace threw her weapon—its powers lightened his wounds.

Grim: “Reap…”

He used his scythe to steal from the god—an ability that works only on divine beings.

The god begged.

Grim: “You killed thousands of innocents. Because of your fear of red eyes.”
He beheaded the god with one final Reap.

Epilogue - The Call

Grim, Grace, Aria, and Willow survived. The church’s god was dead. The religion might fall.

“Happy birthday, Grim,” Willow smiled, giving him a mask.
But just as he began to thank them—

A crack in the dimensions opened beneath him. He vanished.
